The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and the Sunnyvale Public Library will hold a bike repair clinic at the library on October 26 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Besides volunteers with mechanical skills, there is a need for volunteers to do general tasks. Those wishing to volunteer can register online.

The library is located on 665 West Olive Avenue. Volunteers are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to help make preparations and to remain at the site a few minutes after the event to clean up.

Volunteer mechanics will inspect bikes, perform repairs and tell people how to prevent problems. General volunteers will greet clients, help with miscellaneous tasks and share relevant information.

    More volunteer activities

The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition describes itself as "a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to support healthier and more just communities in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties by making biking safe and accessible through education, advocacy and fun."

It has scheduled several volunteer opportunities. Volunteers who have done five hours of work in a calendar year are eligible to become members of the organization.

    Introduction to e-bikes

The organization will hold a free, online introduction to e-bikes on October 21 at noon. Those interested in attending can sign up online. The event is being sponsored by Peninsula Clean Energy.
