University of Georgia to build new freshman dorm
The University of Georgia will break ground on a 125,000 square foot new freshman dorm in late September, according to a University System of Georgia report. The dorm building, currently called building 2266, will be able to house 565 students, helping to accommodate for increased housing needs following recent enrollment increases. UGA’s first-year class increased from less than 5,500 students in fall 2019 to more than 6,175 students this fall 2024, according to a statement from UGA.
