Meet Dade County’s Cajun, A Friend To Local Businesses
Regulars at local attractions, eateries, and events around the county might recognize the familiar face and distinctive New Orleans accent of Lloyd “The Cajun” Kenney III. While Cajun’s smile is now often seen around town (sometimes with a camera in hand), there was a time when he’d never heard of Dade County or Trenton.
Trenton’s First Coffee Shop Celebrates Five Years
Corner Coffee first opened in mid-July 2019, becoming Dade County’s only coffee shop at the time. The owners, Keel and Tammy Irvin, saw that Artzy Cafe and then Big Woods Bakery had closed, leaving a gap for a breakfast/lunch spot that served quality coffee. In order to serve quality coffee they order freshly roasted beans from Goodman Coffee Roasters in St. Elmo, Chattanooga.
DCHS Volleyball Season Begins Aug. 6
The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine volleyball team will be taking the court soon as the 2024 season gets underway on Aug. 6 when they will travel to South Pittsburg, Tenn. On Aug. 8 they will travel to Coahulla Creek and will have their first home games on Aug. 12 when they host South Pittsburg at 5 p.m. and Marion County at 6 p.m.
