Dunlap officially approves plans to construct $8.5 million training center at high school
The Dunlap school board on Wednesday night approved plans to move ahead with an $8.5 million indoor athletic complex. A 42,500-square-foot indoor facility — the Dunlap Training Center — will be constructed on the high school campus at the corner of Legion Hall Road and Cedar Hill Drive in Dunlap. The Dunlap Training Center is slated to be funded by the school's reserves, containing about $38 million, according to Dunlap superintendent Scott Dearman.
Hy-Vee pulls out of Monmouth store despite $1M in incentives
Despite the promise of up to $1 million in economic development incentives from the city of Monmouth, Hy-Vee will not be developing the former Shopko into a grocery store. 2024 Monmouth Little Lions League Hands Out Awards at Ceremony at Harmon Park
The 2024 Monmouth Little Lion’s League Baseball season came to an end last night at Harmon Park in Monmouth with the annual Award Ceremony Picnic. A fantastic turnout was treated to a hot dog, chips and a drink. Following the meal, the regular season and tournament champs were recognized. NWS Confirms Three Tornadoes In Quad Cities Area
The National Weather Service is confirming that three tornadoes hit the Quad Cities area Monday night. Tornadoes touched down in Davenport, near Taylor Ridge in Rock Island County, and Kewanee. The funnel clouds were spawned by a powerful line of wind-producing storms known as a derecho. The storms led to downed trees and damage to homes, two grain elevator bins, and utility poles.
