Earlier this month, a grand jury indicted over fifteen people on felony charges in Coffee County. Seven individuals face drug offenses, while others were indicted for assault, stalking, theft, and more. Several were indicted for drug possession, including two defendants facing trafficking charges after arrests earlier this year: Kenchisa Teraki Carter and Zarionna Hollaway.

Mitchell was one of two men arrested in March after detectives from the Coffee County Drug Unit (CCDU) served a search warrant at a residence on McDonald Road. According to a CCDU incident report, detectives found 127 grams of cocaine, quantities of marijuana and MDMA tablets, other pills, and a handgun.

As a result, Carter and Mitchell were arrested and booked on charges connected to the case. Carter, 48, has now been indicted on counts of Trafficking in Cocaine and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Mitchell pleaded guilty to one count of possession of cocaine in May and received 8 years of probation.

The Coffee County Jail roster shows that Carter has not been released on bond.

Another defendant charged with trafficking was arrested in May following a search of an apartment located at 620 East Peachtree Street Apartment A5 in Douglas. The search, conducted by CCDU detectives and FBI Violent Gang Task Force agents, yielded 1,006 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 14 grams of suspected cocaine, 14 grams of marijuana, a large digital scale, a container with several white tablets, $1,633 in cash, and a revolver.

Zarionna Monae Holloway, 22, was the only occupant in the apartment at the time and was arrested on multiple charges. She has been indicted on two counts, including trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. As of today, she remains in custody.

A 58-year-old Hazlehurst man, Garrette Sanders, has been indicted on two felony charges following an investigation earlier this year. On February 27, a woman contacted officers reporting that she had a temporary restraining order against Sanders and that he was at her residence. Sanders claimed he was there to retrieve his belongings but was warned by officers that returning would lead to charges of aggravated stalking.

A few hours later, Sanders allegedly returned, prompting officers to respond again. He was detained, and during a search prior to his arrest, officers found a rolled-up cigar wrapper containing a white powder-like substance and a rock of suspected illegal drugs.

Sanders was charged with Aggravated Stalking and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance. He has not been released on bond and remains in custody.

Kentavious Williams, 28, who was arrested in April, has been indicted on charges of False Imprisonment, three counts of Obstruction of an Officer, and Aggravated Assault. Copies of the indictment allege that Williams choked a woman until she couldn't breathe and then detained her unlawfully by blocking the door with a sofa. The obstruction charges stem from Williams allegedly kicking three officers during his arrest. As of today, Williams remains in jail.

Thomas Landon, 57, who was arrested in April for allegedly assaulting a woman in his vehicle, has now been indicted on one count of Exploitation and Intimidation of a Disabled Adult, Elder Person, or Resident, and one count of Battery, Family Violence. According to a Douglas Police Department incident report, Landon left the Jet convenience store on Bowens Mill Road and Baker Highway and nearly collided with another car in traffic.

Douglas police officers pursued Landon to Willacoochee after Atkinson County officers stopped his vehicle. A 65-year-old woman inside the vehicle reported that Landon was driving erratically and hit her after she asked him to slow down. The victim had bruises on her left shoulder.

Landon admitted to getting upset and hitting the woman a couple of times but claimed he did not intend to harm her. Landon has since been released from custody on bond.

Other individuals indicted this month include:
