Late last month, officers from the Braxton Police Department arrested a woman who allegedly attempted to commit an armed robbery at a convenience store and then claimed she was making a TikTok video.

According to a Broxton Police Department incident report, officers were dispatched to the First Choice Convenience Store (Aiden’s North) in Broxton on July 25. At the scene, an officer observed a woman, identified as 30-year-old Princess Collins, pull a mask over her face and run into the gas station.

The officer reported that he briefly spoke with a group of people at the scene before calling in the incident.

When a second officer arrived, he reviewed surveillance footage showing Collins standing next to a white Mazda, wearing a durag. The footage captured Collins pulling an item from her pocket, holding it as if it were a firearm, and then pulling the durag down over her face. She approached the store’s doors while holding the object as though it were a gun.

The officer noted that Collins stopped after “aggressively colliding with the door” to open it and looked back at two individuals he described as her “associates.”

Collins then removed her mask, put the object back in her pocket, approached the drink machine, and spoke with the officer who was present at the scene.

According to the report, Collins claimed she was making a TikTok video. However, the video footage showed no one recording her at the time of the incident, except for the store’s surveillance cameras.

Following further investigation, Collins was booked into the Coffee County Jail on charges of criminal attempt to commit a felony, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and wearing a mask, hood, or device that conceals her identity. The charges also include a bond forfeiture.

Collins was out on bond at the time in two separate cases. In June 2023, she was arrested on charges of burglary in the first degree and being a party to a crime. She was released the following month. The next month, she was arrested on one count of aggravated assault and remained in custody for approximately six months before being released in January 2024. She was re-arrested in March 2024 due to a bond forfeiture but was released the same day.

As of today, Collins remains in custody at the Coffee County Jail, and both of her previous cases are still pending.
