Gilberts teen injured in crash on Powers Road
An 18-year-old Gilberts man was seriously injured after the car he was driving hit a tree Saturday. The 18-year-old was driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata southbound shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday on Powers Road when he lost control as he tried to maneuver a tight curve at a high rate of speed, authorities said. The car left the roadway, just north of the I-90 bridge, and struck a tree, according to a news release from the Kane County sheriff’s office.
Teens injured in serious crash in Hampshire Township
Kane County sheriff’s officials say it appears speed played a role in a crash Friday that seriously injured two 14-year-old boys from Lake in the Hills. Authorities said a 16-year-old boy from Huntley was driving eastbound on Dietrich Road, just west of Route 20 in Hampshire Township, when he lost control of his car and hit a tree around 7:32 p.m. Friday.

Naperville home damaged in fire
A Naperville home was deemed uninhabitable following a fire Monday afternoon. Naperville firefighters were called to the 1300 block of Winchester Court at 1:23 p.m. for a reported house fire. Brothers killed in Lindenhurst crash identified
Two boys killed late Friday in a crash in Lindenhurst have been identified as Antony Tiscareno, 16, and his brother Alonso, 11, both of Wadsworth. Autopsy results showed both died from blunt force injuries as a result of the single-vehicle crash, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
