The Peoria Unified governing board will discuss a potential new elementary school and possible locations during a public study session 4 p.m., Sept. 26.

The Nov. 5 general election ballot includes a $120 million bond that allocates $21 million for construction of a new elementary school on district-owned land. The board will look at four possible sites in the northern part of the city, where the need has grown for new schools.

    No decision will be made.

The bond also allocates funds for safety and security improvements, repairs and upgrades, as well as technology and tranportation throughout the district.

Also at the study session, the board will receive an update from the district's safety and security department.

The regular board meeting will begin at 6 p.m. As part of the agenda, the board will vote on recommendations for enrollment capacity regarding open enrollment.
