JEFFERSON -- Sophomore Noah Skoug scored in the first half and junior Jake Kerkenbush added a second-half goal for Jefferson's boys soccer team, which defeated visiting East Troy 2-0 in Rock Valley play on Tuesday.

Skoug found the back of the net in the 24th minute off an assist by Kerkenbush, who doubled Jefferson's lead in the 72nd minute via free kick.

Senior goalkeeper Sam Steies stopped four shots for the Eagles (4-5-0, 1-2-0 in conference).

"My boys played a great game tonight," Jefferson boys soccer coach Pablo Loyo said. "We were able to control the tempo of the game even though we missed a lot of scoring opportunities.

"I want to give a big shoutout to my defense and my goalkeeper. They played awesome tonight."
