Volleyball: Jefferson earns 5-set win over Monroe

MONROE -- Jefferson's volleyball team held off host Monroe 18-25, 25-19, 25-19, 19-25, 15-5 in Rock Valley play on Tuesday.

Sophomore outside hitter Finley Sikora led the Eagles (7-15, 2-1 in conference) with 17 kills and nine aces.

Junior setter Leslie De La Portilla chipped in 17 assists, sophomore middle hitter Olivia Stelse had two blocks and senior libero Addison McMahon finished with 22 digs.

"We fought hard and never gave up throughout the game," Jefferson volleyball coach Andrea Kubicek said. "We worked together on every point."

The Eagles play at Delavan-Darien on Thursday.
