    Central Illinois man killed in two-vehicle crash near Chatsworth

    CHATSWORTH – A Forrest man died Friday in two-vehicle crash on US Route 24 near Chatsworth.

    According to a news release from the Livingston County Coroner’s Office, Bailey Beyers, 28, of Forrest, was eastbound on US 24 in a semitrailer when he collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of US 24 and 3350 East Road, also known as Livingston County Highway 3.

    The semi then went off the road and overturned before catching fire, the release states.

    The release also noted that the driver of the pickup, whose name was not released, was northbound on 3350 East Road and did not stop at the intersection. Stop signs are posted on 3350 East Road on each side of US 24.

    Beyers was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has taken place, the release states, but the results of the autopsy were not released.

    There was no mention of the condition of the driver of the pickup.

    Illinois State Police and the Livingston County Coroner’s Office are investigating the crash.
