    Caregiver Charged After Toddler Found Alone In Roadway Outside Virginia Apartment: Police

    A 23-year-old woman is facing charges after a Good Samaritan picked up a toddler found walking alone in the streets outside a Prince William County apartment.

    Kayla Nicole Murphy was charged following an incident early on Thursday morning in Triangle involving a 2-year-old child who was rescued by a neighbor, officials say.

    Officers responded to the Melrose Apartments in the 18000 block of Purvis Drive in Triangle, where they were called in to investigate reports of a found child who was found in the roadway outside.

    While investigating the incident, police say that Murphy made contact with the officers to report that the kid - who was uninjured - missing.

    The Triangle resident was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was released on a court summons and her court date is pending. The child was released into the custody of "known parties."

    Damn they must've been quiet as hell. this is my neighborhood, and I didn't see or hear anything 🤣 glad the baby is safe. It's not the first time this happened and won't be the last.
