    Photos Show Tanker Trunk Hauling 8,500 Gallons Of Gas Crush 2 Cars In NJ, 5 Hospitalized

    Police have provided an update and firefighters have shared photos of the crash involving a tanker truck and two passenger vehicles Wednesday, Oct. 2 in Bernardsville.

    One person was airlifted and four people were taken by ground to various hospitals after the crash with a 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer loaded with 8,500 gallons of gasoline on Anderson Hill Road just north of Seney Drive around 8:20 a.m., Bernardsville police said.

    The tractor-trailer was heading north on Anderson Hill Road when for it lost power and began rolling backward, police said. The tractor-trailer began to jackknife, then overturned onto the two vehicles directly behind it, which were also traveling north on Anderson Hill Road.

    One victim was extricated from a Mazda CX5 and airlifted to Morristown Memorial Hospital. Four other people were rushed to local hospitals. All were in stable condition as of press time, police said.
