    Multi-Vehicle Crash On I-495 In Fairfax County Causes Delays For Motorists

    Several lanes were closed on I-495 on Tuesday afternoon in Fairfax County when a multi-vehicle crash was reported, backing up traffic for miles.

    Motorists in the northbound lanes of the interstate were slowed by a crash initially reported at around 1:15 p.m. which led to an hourlong delay in the area of VA-267W and exit 46.

    Three lanes were closed, forcing traffic to get by slowly while the crash was investigated and the scene cleared.

    According to the Virginia DOT, as of 2 p.m. on Tuesday, traffic was backed up approximately two and a half miles.

    No details about the crash have been released.

    If someone died they could have been till nighttime.495 is no good.1 person going 80 the other 50 then the other lane they're doing 65. and it just takes one wrong move.
