Man Arrested For Newark Homicide: Prosecutor

At midnight on Monday, Sept. 2, police responded to Bergen Street and Chadwick Avenue and found Darryl Craft, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. Craft was rushed to University Hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead, authorities said.

An investigation determined Zyion Williams-Jones was the person responsible and he was charged with murder and multiple weapons offenses, authorities said.

Williams-Jones is being held in the Essex County Correctional Facility pending an appearance in the Essex County Central Judicial Processing (CJP) Court, authorities said.
