Lady Brahmas fall to Redwater, at DeKalb
It’s been a tough season for the Pewitt Lady Brahma softball team as they battle in search of their first win in district play. Pewitt hosted Redwater and traveled to DeKalb last week in the hopes of nabbing that elusive district win. Prior to the game, the team honored its two seniors, K.K. Jackson and Hally Taylor. A windy day led to a few close popups falling short as the Lady Brahmas fell to the Lady Dragons, 6-0. Jenna McCollum, K.K. Jackson and Trinity Neuman all finished with hits for Pewitt. Mylee Morris stole two bases and Neuman also had a steal. Gloria Pureco finished with two outfield catches for outs. K.K. Jackson finished with three strikeouts on the mound. Pewitt traveled to DeKalb, hoping to make it a good Friday on Good Friday. Unfortunately, the Lady Bear bats heated up as DeKalb claimed a 10-0 win. Despite the loss, Pewitt had nice defensive plays from Neuman, Morris, K.K. Jackson, Kenzie Jackson, Noemy Martinez and Hally Taylor. K.K. Jackson struck out one from the mound. The Lady Brahmas traveled to New Boston Tuesday and are off until April 18 when they travel to Atlanta.
