High school football roundup for Aug. 30, 2024: Bethel Park rolls past Mars
Ja Vaughn Moore rushed for 195 yards and three touchdowns to lead Class 5A Bethel Park to a 49-13 nonconference victory at Class 4A No. 3 Mars (1-1) on Friday night. David Dennison added 142 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Bethel Park (2-0) while teammate Tanner Pfeuffer threw for 120 yards and one TD.

One of the highest-scoring local high school football games in recent memory had to end one way or another, so Highlands coach Matt Bonislawski decided enough was enough. “I don’t second guess. I went for two last week [in an overtime loss against Armstrong], and I would do it again,” Bonislawski said. “To be honest, if there was no kicking involved and 2-point conversions involved, we probably would still be playing. It was just score after score after score.”
