MnDOT to begin work on I-35W in Dakota County
Crews will being preliminary work in late summer on an Interstate 35W improvement in Dakota County, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said Wednesday. MnDOT, which is working with the city of Burnsville and Dakota County on the $80 million project, said workers will resurface I-35W and repair or replace bridges between Cliff Road and the Burnsville split. Most of the work will take place during the 2025 and 2026 construction seasons.

Mohamed Aden Hared, age 24 of Faribault, has been charged in Dakota County with second degree murder in connection with the death of Ahmed Ibrahim Cariif, age 22 of Faribault. According to the criminal complaint, Cariff was shot in the parking lot of an Amazon Order Fulfillment location in Lakeville, where the two worked.

State Patrol – Driver Fled Scene Following Fatal Crash in Eagan
Eagan, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is reporting that one of the drivers involved in a fatal crash in Dakota County Saturday afternoon fled the scene on foot. Preliminary reports on the incident indicated occurred at the junction of Highway 55 and Lexington Avenue in Eagan just after 3 PM. The State Patrol says an SUV headed east on Highway 55 went through a red light and crashed into the passenger side of another vehicle attempting a left turn onto Lexington Avenue.
