Rochester man gets conviction for social media threat overturned by MN Court of Appeals
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Court of Appeals has overturned the conviction of a Rochester man prosecuted for making threatening posts on social media. Kyle Lloyd Ketterling, 63, was arrested in May 2022 and charged with four counts of threats of violence. Prosecutors said Ketterling generated more than 1,900 posts on the social media site Gettr between April and May of 2022. While law enforcement found most of the posts to be political in nature, it says four of them should qualify as threats of violence.
