KDC seeks to add more residential units to the 186-acre CityLine campus in Richardson.<\p> The Dallas-based developer has asked for has requested an increase in the number of allowable residential units and more open space for CityLine East, a 62.5-acre portion of the development that houses a roughly 569,680-square-foot office building with ground-floor retail and three multifamily properties with a total of 805 units.<\p>
Among small businesses, there's a huge divide on finances
The smallest businesses are the ones most likely to be struggling, as larger small businesses report better conditions.<\p> The latest data from the Federal Reserve’s Small Business Credit Survey — released earlier this year but since followed up with a more detailed breakdown by size and demographics — shows how, even within the realm of small businesses, there is wide variation.<\p>
Prologis hub adds large tenant
An Oregon-based supplier of doors and windows to homeowners and professional contractors has set up shop in North Texas.<\p> Western Pacific Building Materials Inc. recently leased 101,900 square feet of industrial office space within Prologis Freeport Distribution Center, an 11-building warehouse cluster in Irving, according to a July 1 announcement from the tenant's broker.<\p>
PNC's retail push has new leader in Dallas
PNC Bank has named a new regional retail executive as it plans a nearly $1 billion expansion nationwide.<\p> Carl Hanna is the bank’s new Southwest retail territory executive following a stint as the North Texas retail market manager, according to an announcement. Hanna, who is based in the Dallas area, will be tasked with coordinating PNC’s expansion efforts, which include plans to add at least 17 more DFW branches by 2028 as well as locations in Austin, San Antonio, Denver, Houston and Miami.<\p>
Builders tapped for huge neighborhood near chip plants
A large housing community set to rise near a small Grayson County town neighboring the semiconductor-supercharged city of Sherman has lined up four of North Texas’ most active homebuilders to lead the charge.<\p> Centurion American Development Group, the developer of the Cottonwood neighborhood outside Dorchester, has inked deals with Beazer Homes USA, D.R. Horton Inc., M/I Homes and PulteGroup.<\p>
DFW's best, worst stocks so far this year
In the first half of 2024, Sonida Senior Living Inc. and Vistra Corp. experienced the biggest stock market gains of any publicly traded companies headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro — both saw their share prices more than double.<\p> Through the first six months of the year, shares of Dallas-based Sonida Senior Living (NYSE: SNDA), which operates senior housing communities across the United States, have increased 185% to $27.50. Meanwhile, shares of Irving-based energy company Vistra (NYSE: VST) have surged 123% to $85.98.<\p>
City Hall support clears way for big project near downtown
A multifamily community that will bring mixed-income housing to the Cedars is moving forward with the support of the City of Dallas.<\p> Power & Light at Cedars will be a five-story building at 2220 S. Ervay St. with 310 units, many designated for people making well below the city's median income level. The developer is Dallas-based Savoy Equity Partners LLC.<\p>
Mark Cuban drug company strikes major expansion
Hospital operator Community Health Systems Inc. has expanded its partnership with Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs Co. by increasing the kinds of medicines it will purchase from the company, according to a June 27 announcement.<\p> The Franklin, Tennessee-based hospital operator originally partnered with Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs in March, agreeing to purchase norepinephrine and epinephrine — both of which have been listed in short supply recently by the Food and Drug Administration<\p>

Southern Methodist University Athletics Director Rick Hart strode through Moody Coliseum in late June, his eyes darting toward the wall. He squinted a touch, almost caught off guard by the logos affixed to the Mustangs’ home arena: "ACC."<\p> "I didn’t know they were up," said Hart, a North Carolina graduate whose father, Dave, served as AD at Florida State. On tap is a $100 million infrastructure overhaul of the century-old Midwest shopping and dining district.<\p> An affiliate of HP Village Management LLC closed the deal June 28 after several months evaluating the property’s aging infrastructure. The deal was first reported as a possibility last October.<\p>

The 50-floor Santander Tower in Dallas will keep its namesake tenant even as the building undergoes other major changes, including an overhaul to mixed-use.<\p> Dallas-based auto lender Santander Consumer USA renewed its lease of more than 211,000 square feet and will keep its name atop the high-rise at 1601 Elm St., according to a report in the Dallas Morning News.<\p>
