Dallas College unveils new campus leaders
Dallas College has named new leaders for its Brookhaven and Mountain View campuses.<\p> Macario Hernandez was appointed president of the Mountain View Campus in southwestern Dallas County and began his position on June 17. Madeline Burillo-Hopkins will serve as the president of the Brookhaven Campus in Farmers Branch and steps into the new role on Aug. 12.<\p>
$300M project showcases new phase of DFW development wave
An upscale mixed-use development blending residential, commercial and recreational space is set to begin construction in Prosper later this year, its master developer told Dallas Business Journal.<\p> Prosper Town Council earlier this month approved zoning changes and a development agreement that allow Frisco-based developer Capitalize Ventures LLC and design firm Gensler to move forward with plans. Now both firms are working on getting construction permits and hope to break ground as soon as possible on phase one of Prosper Arts District.<\p>

Relief for Dallas developers promised at City Hall
The City of Dallas could combine the departments overseeing permitting and urban planning under a proposal outlined by Kimberly Tolbert, the interim city manager. The idea is to improve a process that many developers have complained is time consuming and convoluted.<\p> The new Planning and Development Department would combine zoning implementation and interpretation teams, house land use and permitting services and create a new team focused on customer and team excellence, according to a June 21 city memo.<\p>
IPO upcoming for Fort Worth company
A Fort Worth-based biopharmaceutical company developing a treatment for cancers is looking to raise $50 million through what would be the second initial public offering by a North Texas firm this year.<\p> Actuate Therapeutics Inc. plans to sell 5.56 million shares at between $8 and $10 per share, according to June 21 filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company would trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker "ACTU." It expects shares to go on sale the week of June 24.<\p>
Housing boom on tap for small town north of Dallas
A small Grayson County town south of the booming city of Sherman is about to get a whole lot bigger.<\p> The $28 million first phase of the large Cottonwood residential community planned in Dorchester should kick off Sept. 1, according to a state filing posted June 24. Phase one construction is expected to wrap up by March 2026, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.<\p>
DFW's 20 wealthiest ZIP codes highlighted on new list
On a new ranking of the nation's 1,000 wealthiest places, 20 ZIP codes in Dallas-Fort Worth made the cut.<\p> The 75225 ZIP, which covers part of University Park and extends into North Dallas, led the way for DFW — and was No.1 overall in the state. The area, roughly bounded by the Dallas North Tollway to the west, Lovers Lane to the south, U.S. 75 to the east and Walnut Lane Hill to the north came in at No. 82 out of 1000 U.S. ZIP codes, placing it in the top 10% wealthiest areas in the nation.<\p>
Incentives deal OK'd for company with $150M revenue goal
Update: Arlington City Council unanimously voted June 25 in favor of incentives for the planned expansion of Ikon Technologies, a company that makes software for car dealers.<\p> Original story: The City of Arlington is considering providing a $7 million grant to keep an automotive technology company in town.<\p>
TPG to spend some of its billions in dry powder
Fort Worth-based TPG Inc. has agreed to acquire German real estate software firm Aareon AG in a deal valued at $4.2 billion.<\p> TPG will acquire the Mainz, Germany-based company from Aareal Bank AG, a German financial giant, and Boston-based Advent International Corp., according to a June 24 announcement.<\p>
CEO keen on 'new, positive chapter' for juice chain
Not long after joining the portfolio of Dallas-based franchisor BRIX Holdings LLC, Clean Juice has opened a location in Prosper.<\p> The Charlotte, North Carolina-based organic juice chain operates 75 locations across the United States, with 13 in Texas. The new Prosper location opened June 7 under franchisee Jigar Patel.<\p>
Famed ranch could add more development
Developers could soon begin work on an eight-building multifamily project at the corner of Coit Road and Eldorado Parkway, which is part of a historic ranch that is considered one of the last undeveloped chunks of Frisco.<\p> The Frisco Planning & Zoning Commission voted late last month in favor of site plans for the community at Brinkmann Ranch, moving the project forward for further consideration by Frisco City Council. A June 20 filing with the state also suggests the project, which could have hundreds of apartments, is moving ahead.<\p>
PE firm makes fitness franchisee investment
Trive Capital Inc.'s latest investment is a bet on the strength of a Crunch Fitness franchisee.<\p> The Dallas-based private equity firm announced June 21 it invested alongside 808 Capital Partners in JF Fitness of North America, which is based in Richmond, Virginia, and operates 16 gyms across Virginia, Maryland and the Carolinas.<\p>

Toyota moves forward with $531M expansion in San Antonio
Toyota has confirmed that it's selected the Alamo City for a more than $531 million expansion.<\p> The automaker plans to add approximately 500,000 square feet to its sprawling Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas Inc. production campus in South San Antonio and create more than 400 new jobs in San Antonio.<\p>
