Dallas County DAs to prosecute 2020 Waco gang-related shooting death
Dallas County prosecutors expect late this year to try a Waco man in a 2020 murder case after McLennan County’s district attorney recused himself from the case. Elijah Marquise Thompson, 26, of Waco, was indicted on first-degree murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old Tyreese Carroll in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant at 1105 N. Valley Mills Drive on June 20, 2020. Police have described the shooting as gang-related.
