Any contract extension should have performance expectations. I'm tired of all this. "Got my money now. I don't have to play" crap. I'm also tired of seeing these guys not honoring their contracts. Needs to be major repercussions. You want to gamble on yourself, fine, play to the best of your ability, and get your offers. I know these guys window to make money is short lived as well as one injury can end their career. But come on, it is a game. How about playing to win and building a legacy on that instead of being the highest paid player. I never cared for Tom Brady. However, looking back, he certainly seemed to love the game and winning. Not just the number of his bank accounts.
