It was back in March of 2022 that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was sued by a woman claiming to be his illegitimate child.

Said lawsuit was filed by Alexandra Davis, a Congressional aide for U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson, and claimed that Jones paid her mother $375,000 in 1996 to keep silent about the child’s paternity.

We now have more information on this nearly two years later. According to Jamie Landers and Lana Ferguson of the Dallas Morning News , a judge in Texas has upheld a previous ruling forcing Jones to take a paternity test.

A court filing after the initial lawsuit back in 2022 claims that Jones worked with an ESPN writer to defame the illegitimate daughter.

“Throughout their smear campaign against Plaintiff, Defendants either knew the statements being made by them were false or they knew enough facts such that they should have entertained serious doubts as to the truth of their defamatory statements,” 2023 court filing against Jerry Jones .

The Cowboys’ owner had not in the past admitted to being the woman’s father. However, Jones also allegedly set up two trust funds for the girl through an attorney in Arkansas, where Cynthia Davis, the child’s mother, lived. Davis had signed a confidentiality agreement. Her daughter is suing to get out of it, claiming she was too young to consent at the time.

The 81-year-old Jones has been married to his wife, Gene, since 1963. They have three children together. That includes current Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones.
