Watch Rob Parker of Fox Sports Radio’s The Odd Couple explain why he thinks it’s ‘ridiculous, balderdash, and poppycock’ for fans and media members to already be anointing Luka Doncic as the ‘best player in the world' on the heels of the Mavericks' demolishing of the Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals to land Luka in his first ever NBA Finals.

Chris Broussard: “A lot of people are talking now about Luca Doncic. Is he the best player in the world? What are your thoughts on that?”
Rob Parker: “Premature, ridiculous, balderdash, poppycock. It's RIDICULOUS, he’s NOT the best player in the world.! He hasn't even won an MVP yet and he hasn't even won a championship yet. I mean, if they get swept here will people tell me after this series is over that he's the best player in the world??
It can't be the prisoner of the moment, it's got to be a body of work where you look at it. People weren't really ready to say the Joker was [the best player in the world] when he had that historic run in the postseason last year averaging a triple-double and they won a championship. He had already won a couple MVPs. You coupled it all together and you looked and went ‘DUDE, THIS GUY’S THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD!’
The other thing too, is Luka the MVP or is Kyrie the MVP if they win the Finals? People might be like ‘KYRIE WENT OFF!’... I doubt people will be waiving a banner for Luka if he’s not named Finals MVP.
It would take at least a championship to even have a conversation, but I would have to see if he has an ‘OK’ Finals, or if he has a ‘great’ Finals. Does Kyrie have a better Finals than him? If Luka has a sub-par Finals and they win, Kyrie is the MVP, and it’s clearly ‘WOW, KYRIE TOOK OVER!, then the conversation would be hard to switch over to Luka and go ‘YEAH! LUKA IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD!’... I just can’t see that Luka narrative coming off that.”
