“Thunder Knocking on the Door” sells out in spectacular musical fashion

DALLAS (KDAF) — From June 13 to June 30, Soul Rep Theatre Company has presented electrifying performances of “Thunder Knocking on the Door.” But there was something about Saturday’s show that was nothing short of legendary, selling out faster than you can say “Encore!”

The audience was buzzing with anticipation as they packed into the Undermain Theatre for the sold-out show. The dazzling cast, including CW33’s very own Yolonda Williams who played Good Sister, delivered a performance that was nothing short of magical.

“I didn’t realize how much I needed to be back on stage,” said Williams, who plays Good Sister. “This is in my DNA. It’s not going anywhere. I love theatre. This particular cast…we are solid as a rock. We have a great cohesive work ethic, and nobody has ego. We just come out here and have a great time.”

Additionally, with performers Olivia Lewis as Glory, Sinclair Freeman as Thunder, Jeremy Lavren as Dregster and Jaguar, and Keeyln Singleton as Jaguar Jr., the energy was palpable, with every song and dance number leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats.

In this musical, a mysterious shapeshifter challenges a blind songstress to a magical duel on the delta blues guitar. From the soulful melodies to the magical storyline, “Thunder Knocking on the Door” is a celebration of love, family, and the power of blues. Although the final curtain has fallen Sunday, the memories of this extraordinary production will linger in our hearts. If you missed out, there could be a glimmer of hope—rumor has it that this might not be the last we’ll see of “Thunder.” Keep your eyes peeled for future announcements.
