Draymond Green's Kid Goes Viral For Innocent Luka Doncic-Klay Thompson Question

The news of Klay Thompson leaving the Golden State Warriors to join Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks has broken so many Dubs fans’ hearts. Even Warriors star forward Draymond Green’s son, DJ, was surprised when his dad told him that Thompson was headed to the Mavs.

However, when DJ heard of Doncic’s name, he immediately went from feeling sad about Thompson’s Warriors exit to wondering why Golden State can’t just get the Slovenian superstar.

“Why can't we have Luka?!” DJ said, according to Green during a recent episode of his The Draymond Green Show podcast.

The Warriors would love to have someone like Doncic on their team but it’s going to take a salary cap miracle for that to happen. That’s not to mention that there’s no conceivable way the Mavericks would trade Doncic for anyone or any package from the Warriors.

Doncic signed a five-year, $215.16 million Designated Rookie contract extension with the Mavs in 2021, and he’ll be earning over $43 million in the next season.

As for Thompson, he has agreed to a three-year deal with Dallas worth $50 million.
