    Dance Alive presents workshop to renew and inspire dance teachers

    GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dance Alive National Ballet proudly presents Michelle Zada in a workshop called “Honoring Our Dancestors” on July 26, an opportunity to share techniques, talent, and art forms. The workshop is limited to 50 teachers and students recommended by a teacher.

    The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on July 26 at 1325 NW 2nd Street.

    This workshop is designed for teachers – for renewal and inspiration! If you teach Horton, modern dance,  or African American modern dance blended with African and Caribbean movement, this workshop is for you!

    Michele Zada’s  professional  performing career includes dancing as a member of Philadanco’s second company “D/2”, Lula Washington Dance Theater, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, and five seasons with Dallas Black Dance Theatre.

    She considers what she does as passing on knowledge from our “Dancestors” and hopes those attending will join in passing on what they have learned from their “dancestors.”

    DANB and Ms. Zada presented this workshop in 2023 and attendees requested MORE!

    We are delighted to provide this opportunity to honor, enlighten, collaborate, and share in our love for our dance form.

    Light lunch served. No charge.

    More about Michelle Zada:

    A native of Columbus, Ohio, Michelle Zada earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education, with a minor in Physical Education from The Ohio State University. She received her early training from Theatre Street Dance Academy and BalletMet of Columbus.

    In addition to dancing, Michelle has appeared as a featured actress in many local and nationwide commercials and print advertising, including McDonalds, Qdoba Mexican Grill, and Brinks Home Security.

    Michelle holds certifications in Mat Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), and group exercise fitness (AFAA). With a duo passion for performing and education, she conducts private lessons and has taught at local dance studios, numerous master classes throughout the United States, and national conferences such as Black College Dance Exchange, Youth America Grand Prix, and International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD). She is also the Co-Founder of Dance Up Dallas Summer Dance Intensive.

    Michelle is currently on staff at Kitty Carter Dance Faculty, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Elite Classical Coaching, Equinox, and is in her ninth year on Dance Faculty at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (BTWHSPVA).

    She has served as Assistant Dance Conservatory Director and Director of the  World Dance Ensemble at BTWHSPVA and is recognized as a District Distinguished Teacher & Mentor for the Dallas
    Independent School District, the National YoungArts Foundation, and the U.S. Presidential Scholar Program.
