Vice President Kamala Harris’ s propensity to lie has reached new heights after she told a large crowd that former President Donald Trump would terminate the Constitution . What Harris doesn’t realize is that these brazen misrepresentations of the truth ironically weaken her anti-Trump arguments by impairing her credibility.
The lie stems from something Trump said on Truth Social in 2022 regarding his belief that the 2020 election was stolen. Trump wrote, “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.” Trump's controversial remark requires context. He was claiming that the gravity of the 2020 election being purportedly stolen justified a termination of certain procedural elements of the Constitution. Though no doubt irresponsible, the single, random comment, so typical of Trump's exaggerated way of emoting, hardly shows that Trump meant he would scrap the whole Constitution upon reelection in 2024. Harris conveniently removed all the context from the statement and exaggerated it beyond reason.
She also told the crowd of roughly 20,000 in Dallas that Trump would be a “dictator on day one” and that he’d “weaponize the Department of Justice against his political opponents.”
Lying about Trump is nothing new for the vice president. She misrepresented his stance on abortion just two weeks ago by claiming he would ban it nationwide when he expressly has said that he opposes a nationwide ban. Though the phrase “fearmongering” has become a cliché in this election cycle, Harris’ shameless employment of the strategy won’t connect with voters.
It’s difficult to believe anything the Democrats say following President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance just a few weeks ago. After years of being told that Biden was “sharp as a tack” and that their eyes were lying to them, the people have finally woken up to the deceitful nature of the Democratic Party.
Those of us who don’t pledge blind allegiance to the legacy media and the White House already knew this, but left-leaning voters are now also becoming conscious of how far their party will go to attract voters.
The reality is that the Left has been admonishing Trump for almost a decade at this point. What Harris and the Democrats will never understand is that the more attacks they levy against Trump, the less believable each one becomes. Ironically enough, if they picked their spots better and only cried wolf when there actually was one, they very well may have been able to “cancel” the highly controversial figure years ago.
The former president has been engrossed in so many controversies over the years that it’s borderline impossible to keep up with them all. Whether it’s due to the alleged Russia collusion hoax or the 34 felony convictions, our culture has finally reached the point where Trump is now a sympathetic figure.
This cultural shift has manifested itself in new polling data. Trump leads Biden by 6 points, 49% to 43%, according to a CNN poll published a few days after the debate. Harris fairs slightly better in a theoretical matchup with the former president, but it doesn’t matter who’s on the ticket in November.

This campaign strategy of spreading misinformation about Trump will be the same regardless of whether Biden steps down or not.
