A slow-moving cold front will produce scattered showers and storms on Monday isolated storms Tuesday through Friday. More scattered storms are possible this weekend and below-average temperatures will continue over the next seven days.

DFW Airport recorded a record 1.85 inches of rain on Sunday. That breaks the old record of 1.75 inches set in 1985.

There was a cold front draped just north of the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Monday morning. It produced pretty heavy rain along the Red River and far northeastern Dallas County. More scattered showers and storms will develop through the day on Monday along this front as it sags south of the area by the evening. That will take the heaviest rain with it. With the clouds and rain around Monday, afternoon highs will hold in the 80s. On Sunday, high temperatures only hit 83 degrees.

The weather Tuesday through Friday will be partly cloudy, warm, and a bit humid. Isolated afternoon and evening storms are in the forecast. The heaviest rain will fall south and east of North Texas. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 80s Monday and Tuesday, and low 90s Thursday and Friday.

Some of the extended weather data is showing a little bit more widespread shower and thunderstorm activity returning into the weekend. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid-90s, but it could be cooler depending on cloud cover.
