Ezekiel Elliott Video Goes Viral After Painful Injury at Cowboys Camp

A practice drill got the best of running back Ezekiel Elliott at a recent Dallas Cowboys training camp practice.

The 29-year-old, who is back with the Cowboys after a one-year stint with the New England Patriots in 2023, was seen participating in a gauntlet drill when he took an unexpected shot. While the drill is intended for practicing ball protection, Elliott did anything but.

While completing his run through the gauntlet, Elliott can be heard yelling "Oh, s***" before letting out a couple more screams of pain and hunching over to catch his breath.

Bill Jones of CBS Sports Texas captured the moment.

The original video has been viewed over 600,000 times as of Friday, August 2.

Fortunately for the Cowboys and their fans, Elliott made a full recovery. But one fan on social media summed up the situation perfectly.

Elliott enters training camp as the expected leading rusher for Dallas in 2024. The most notable names behind him on the team's unofficial depth chart include Rico Dowdle, Royce Freeman and Deuce Vaughn.

Freeman, now on his sixth NFL team in the last five seasons, is the most experienced of the bunch with 2,324 career scrimmage yards (1,792 rushing) and 10 touchdowns.

While Elliott hasn't topped 1,000 rushing yards since 2021, he is 1,096 yards away from cracking 10,000 for his career. Even in a down season in 2023, former Cowboys lead back Tony Pollard surpassed the 1,000-yard mark on 252 carries last season.
