Dallas Cowboys Fans Will Be Livid Over This 2024 Prediction

The Dallas Cowboys are getting ready for the start of the 2024 campaign in what feels like a make-or-break year for the core of the franchise. While the Cowboys have had some regular-season success in recent years, they have constantly fallen short in the playoffs.

Last season was no different for Dallas. Despite being a touchdown favorite at home, the Cowboys were embarrassed by the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. Many thought that the loss would lead to some changes, but the Cowboys stayed with Mike McCarthy as the head coach and Dak Prescott at quarterback.

Now, the Cowboys will be hoping for a different result in 2024, but the roster doesn’t look much different from what we saw last season.

Recently, Pro Football Network used their playoff prediction algorithm to predict the 2024 season. They had the Cowboys finishing with an 8-9 record and third in the NFC East.

Here’s what they had to say.

“Entering 2024, the NFC East had not had a back-to-back winner since the Philadelphia Eagles won their fourth-straight division crown in 2004. That streak now continues into 2025, with the Eagles ousting the Dallas Cowboys as champs following an impressive 12-5 campaign.

Not only does Dallas finish below rival Philadelphia in the standings, but they are also looking up at new head coach Dan Quinn, rookie QB Jayden Daniels, and the Washington Commanders in the standings for the first time in five years.”

Could the Cowboys really finish with a losing record?

Seeing the Cowboys with a below .500 record might seem surprising, but it shouldn’t come as too much of a shock. Dallas’ roster doesn’t seem to be nearly as good as it has been in years past, and many have questioned McCarthy as a head coach.

If the Cowboys go 8-9, we will certainly see some changes for the coaching staff and perhaps at quarterback, as well. What might be surprising to some is the success of the Washington Commanders in the prediction. With Jayden Daniels and Dan Quinn, the Commanders come in second in the division, which would indicate a bright future.

As training camps rolls on for the Cowboys, they still have yet to work out a new contract for CeeDee Lamb. If Lamb misses times or isn’t the same caliber of player because of sitting out, the Cowboys could be much worse than 8-9.

Time will tell if the prediction is correct or not, but there is certainly an uneasy feeling for Dallas heading into the season.
