Hotter but brighter Sunday in store
Saturday has been gloomy around the Valley but not terribly damp. An area of low pressure that is working to the northeast has brought more clouds and occasional showers and rumbles. As this disturbance continues to lift through, we could see an isolated shower or storm through the remainder of the evening. This wave passes and we'll tap into some drier air overnight with lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s. High pressure briefly builds in for Sunday leading to less humid conditions but the WNW breeze will still make for a hotter day. Temps look to top out right around 90°. Enjoy the sun because we start to turn unsettled once again. Another wave of moisture lifts in our direction making for hit or miss storms Monday afternoon and evening. This active trend holds into Tuesday with an area of low pressure working toward the region. Once again, this brings the threat of a few thunderstorms later in the day into Tuesday night. The higher chance arrive overnight into Wednesday though. The latter half of the day looks drier as this disturbance departs. We set our sights on a cold frontal passage on Thursday though and this brings the potential for more widespread showers and storm. At this time, the threat of severe weather is looking really low. Behind this system, the humidity relaxes a little but we don't tap into much cooler of an airmass. In fact, highs rebound quickly as upper ridging develops. The lower to mid-90s are on the docket later in the 10-Day along with more sunshine. We can't rule out some stray storms popping up in the heating of the day though by Monday and Tuesday of the following week.
