Muskegon search crews find body of man who fell overboard into Lake Michigan
MUSKEGON, Mich. — West Michigan search crews located and recovered the body of a man who fell overboard from a fishing vessel in Lake Michigan Thursday. The Muskegon County Sheriff's Office said around 10:30 a.m. Thursday the Muskegon County Marine Division was dispatched to the report of a person who had fallen off a fishing vessel without a life jacket.
Body of Missing 26-Year-Old Man Recovered from Lake Michigan Near Muskegon Channel
A somber recovery unfolded on Lake Michigan on Friday as divers located the body of a 26-year-old man who had gone missing the previous day, FOX 17 reports. Officials from the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office announced that the body was found roughly 2 miles from the Muskegon Channel in depths reaching 80 feet, the victim had fallen from a boat Thursday morning and was not seen again after being unable to grasp a life vest thrown to him. The effort to locate him extended over two days, hindered by adverse weather that caused the search to pause temporarily.

Millage supporting Ottawa County seniors up for renewal
OTTAWA COUNTY - A millage that funds programming for senior citizens in Tri-Cities - Grand Haven, Spring Lake, and Ferrysburg - is up for renewal on the Aug. 6 ballot. The North Ottawa County Council on Aging Millage renewal proposal requests 0.2500 mills ($0.2500 per $1,000 of taxable value) for 10-years, 2025 through 2034. The funding supports a large portion of the budget to operate the Grand Haven-based Four Pointes Center for Successful Aging that provides a variety of services and programming to seniors.

Grand Haven museum seeking voter support for millage renewal in August
GRAND HAVEN, MI - A millage that provides a little over half of the Tri-Cities Historical Museum’s annual funding is up for renewal on the Aug. 6 election ballot. The free museum, located at 200 Washington Ave. in Grand Haven, mission is creating connections to Tri-Cities history. Voters in Grand Haven, Grand Haven Township and Ferrysburg are asked to support a millage proposal for .25 mills ($.25 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of six years, 2025 through 2030.
Tip leads to Muskegon man’s arrest for dealing cocaine and fentanyl, troopers say
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY — On Sunday, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Traverse City Post received a tip that a suspicious vehicle dropped off a man at an apartment on Glen Drive in Garfield Township. The tipster reported several vehicles and pedestrians visited the apartment, stayed for a very short duration, then left the area. Troopers conducted a rapid investigation were able to obtain enough probable cause to obtain two search warrants for the residence. The search warrant was executed shortly after midnight this morning. Troopers discovered evidence of narcotics trafficking inside. A 30-year-old Muskegon man was arrested on two counts of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver fentanyl. Both are 20-year felonies. More charges are expected to follow.
