PARIS, France — Former University of Portland runner Woody Kincaid qualified for his second Olympic Games where he will run the men's 10,000-meter race in Paris. Kincaid's first appearance at the Olympics was in 2021 when he ran the 10,000- and 5,000-meter race in Tokyo. This year, he will only be running the 10,000 meters.

BLM leaders encourage all visitors to be aware of active restrictions and closures as warmer, drier weather sets in around the Pacific Northwest. These fire restrictions help reduce the risk of human-caused fires. “First, do no harm.” This is the Hippocratic Oath physicians take when they get their medical license, and practice for their entire medical career. As independent physician practices dwindle, corporate ownership of medical practices is at an all-time high. Large hospitals continue to expand their footprint, furthering a decades-long trend of consolidation. More recently, new corporate entities are acquiring physician groups, headlined by private equity companies, retailers such as Walgreens and Amazon, and insurance companies. Today, UnitedHealthcare is the largest employer of physicians in the nation. These trends of corporate consolidation are pervasive here in Oregon, raising urgent questions about the ownership and control over Oregon’s health care delivery system.
