Portland early risers see rain Tuesday. Skies gradually clear by afternoon; high 72
Those up and about early Tuesday, especially on Portland’s east side, saw rain showers to start their morning. The National Weather Service says rain in the Willamette Valley and southwest Washington should taper off by late morning. Rainfall amounts of 0.01 inch or less are expected in the lowlands, and the mountains could see as much as a quarter of an inch.

Lake Oswego skate park to be temporarily closed for a few days next week
The city of Lake Oswego will temporarily close the Rassekh Park skate park from Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 to install the nearby restroom building. “During this time, construction crews and large equipment will be on-site to complete this much-anticipated improvement and the skatepark will be closed for user safety,” the department wrote via email. The city said the skate park will reopen Saturday, Sept. 7 and the restroom building, which will include four gender-neutral restrooms (two are fully ADA accessible), will be available during park hours starting the following week.
