Bureau of Land Management issues fire restrictions for Northwest Oregon district
Fire restrictions are in effect for all Bureau of Land Management public lands throughout the Northwest Oregon District. BLM leaders encourage all visitors to be aware of active restrictions and closures as warmer, drier weather sets in around the Pacific Northwest. After months of investigation, the city of Sandy fired former interim police chief Sean Lundry. Now, in response, Lundry is threatening a lawsuit against the city, City Manager Tyler Deems, Deputy City Manager Jeff Aprati and Mayor Stan Pulliam. Two people died in a three-car crash Sunday afternoon, July 21, about 10 miles east of Sandy after a teenage driver allegedly drifted into oncoming traffic.
