    Getting to Know Rachel Bingman

    DANBURY — North Stokes’ rising senior Rachel Bingman is looking forward to another year of competing in sports and building memories with her friends.

    Bingman plays volleyball and throws the discus and shot put on both the Vikings’ indoor and outdoor track teams. Playing both sports motivates her because of the joy of competition and the challenges it gives her that pushes herself to do better.

    Rachel loves her small peaceful community and loves talking about her dog, Fancy. She realizes that no one is perfect and that everyone makes mistakes and that even though it’s hard sometimes, she knows you have to put your problems in God’s hands.

    Bingman is on the A honor roll, was a junior marshall, a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Students and the Ruritans Club.

    She has earned All-Conference in indoor and outdoor track for three years as well as All-Conference, All-Tournament and All-County during her junior season in volleyball.

    Rachel plans to attend a four-year university and gain a bachelor’s degree in aviation.

    The Stokes News was able to catch up with Rachel and she allowed us to get to know her on a more personal level by answering the following questions:

    Favorite Food: Spaghetti

    Favorite Subject: English

    Biggest Influence: My parents because they have always believed in me even if I didn’t believe in myself and they have helped me accomplish where I am today in life.

    Favorite TV Show: "Criminal Minds"

    Favorite Sport: Volleyball

    Favorite Music: Christian and country music

    Favorite Website: Amazon

    Favorite Day of the Year: Easter, because you get to celebrate and be with family, but also remember what Jesus Christ did for us and why we get to spend time with family.

    Favorite Ice Cream: Chocolate

    Pets: We have four dogs, but mine is a miniature dachshund named Fancy

    Favorite Teacher/Coach: Mrs. (Cassidy) Boles because she is just about the only math teach that has ever been able to help me understand math.

    Dream Vacation: Italy

    Dream Job: Pilot

    Hobbies: Spending time with my dog Fancy, volleyball and track.
