SANDUSKY — New and returning visitors celebrated what the community has to offer Friday at Sandusky's Community Collaboration Day. For the fifth year, community members, students and their families came together to celebrate before the school year. Booths from local organizations, including Sandusky Schools, games, a DJ and food trucks lined Mills Street as families walked around to explore each booth. The event was hosted by several Sandusky-based organizations — Sandusky Schools, Sandusky Recreation, the Erie County Minority Health Task Force and Father’s Heart Family Church.

Tiffin Street, c. 1912 Horses pulling a wagon beside several walkers are headed east on Tiffin Street in Fremont in this interesting Niebergall photograph probably taken in the aftermath of the 1912 flood. The Maumee Bay Carvers Association presented their 42nd Annual Decoy Show and Swap and Sell Meet, Aug. 10, at the Magee Marsh Visitor Center, Oak Harbor. The free event gave visitors a chance to see beautifully carved decoys and shorebirds made by hand. Carvers of all skill levels competed by entering their working decoys and shorebirds which were judged and awarded cash prizes and ribbons.
