Live from Studio A: Grant Glad
This Minnesota native moved to Duluth about a year prior to joining us in the studio on July 18, 2024. The Americana singer/songwriter released an album, One Man's Story, in January of 2024; the concept album, inspired by the storytelling of John Steinbeck, follows a Midwestern man from the age of 13 through his life to old age and becoming a widower. We talked with Glad about the album, his mockumentary Tall People Music, and about his podcast, Glad to be Here, in which he interviews fellow Minnesota musicians. Glad shared some new songs as well as a song from the album.

Hermantown Fire Department Launches New Program
HERMANTOWN, Minn. — The Hermantown Fire Department has launched its new community connect program. This program is about supply first responders with vital information to better meet the needs of the community when they are called upon. Hermantown residents and businesses can voluntarily input any information that they think will aid responders. Users can outline their health or mobility issues, pets, hazards, or anything else that may affect how the responder’s approach.

Stories you might have missed from across Wisconsin. Ashwaubenon: Manure Spill being investigated. Put down your lunch until this story is over. The Wisconsin Department of Natural resources is investigating a manure spill that took place in Eastern Outagamie County and western Brown County. The spill resulted in a fish kill. Tuesday, the department was notified of manure in Dutchman Creek and then a staffer noticed dead fish in the creek. The source of the manure is unknown but the DNR and county Land Conservation are on scene looking into the issue. The DNR is recommending that people and pets avoid contact with Dutchman Creek. Florida man charged with fraudulently selling jewelry as ‘Native American-Made’ in Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 45-year-old Florida man has been charged in Wisconsin for fraudulently selling jewelry as Native American-made. According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin, Jose Farinango Muenala from Casselberry, Florida, is charged with wire fraud, mail fraud, and misrepresenting Indian-produced goods.
