In particular, she's very good on environmental issues and especially on public health. She oversees the chronic diseases and cancer programs at the state Department of Health Services. The largest item in Dane County’s budget -- over $300 million and 40% of the entire budget -- is for public health. For me, her public health experience really sets her apart and sets her up well for what we need in a county executive.
