Dane County Board recognizes BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month, Disability Pride Month
The Dane County Board of Supervisors recognized Disability Pride Month and BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month at last night’s Board meeting. Disability Pride Month was first celebrated on July 26, the day when the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was first signed into law in 1990. In 2015, Disability Pride Month was established more officially when New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio declared July Disability Pride Month.
Dane County Regional Airport sees widespread cancellations and delays amid global outages
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Dane County Regional Airport and countless airports across the nation are experiences cancellations and delays due to a widespread outage. Our crews at the airport have learned that the boards that list flight status are not updating so the information on your flight may be incorrect. We are also told that the airline kiosks are also not available for those looking to fly. The Milwaukee Airport released a post to X asking travelers to not come to the airport and to instead call ahead to learn about any updates to their flight.
Wisconsin delegate Maly praises Trump for visiting areas Republicans typically don’t go
Dane County GOP Chair Brandon Maly, 24, in a WisPolitics-Wisconsin Eye interview praised Donald Trump for visiting areas he said Republican candidates don’t typically go. “With President Trump going to places like the South Bronx and North Philly, I think President Trump can make it out to Madison, or the Dane County area in Wisconsin,” Maly said.

Dear Editor: I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Melissa Agard to be our next Dane County executive. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I know that she is the right voice to stand up for our rights and ensure there is equality across our entire county. At a time when our children and LGBTQ+ families are under constant attack, it is imperative we elect leaders who are committed to equality and justice for all. She has repeated proven that she is such a leader.

New Fitchburg camp seeks to help girls learn construction job skills
More than a dozen local girls will take part in a construction skills camp this week at the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center in Fitchburg. The free camp aims to teach girls ages 14 to 18 skills for careers in carpentry, electrical, interior design, architecture, siding, roofing and heavy machinery operation. The girls also will be connected with potential employment opportunities or mentoring.
