Let's Go Hot Air Ballooning Over Casper
CASPER — The early morning sun was not yet rising at Mike Cedar Park as Cameron Wagner, Fred Dinkler, Willie Taillon and other aeronauts made ready to take to the sky. At 5 a.m. Friday, it’s finally time for the annual Casper Balloon Roundup, which allows area people a chance to “crew,” or help launch and retrieve, hot-air balloons. Horse Creek Fire now covers 43 acres in BTNF
JACKSON, Wyo. — Firefighters continue working to suppress the Horse Creek Fire, which has spread across 43 acres in Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF). The fire, located in the Big Piney Ranger District about 30 miles south of Hoback, WY, has been growing for over two weeks since Monday, July 1, when Forest Service fire crews first noticed smoke coming from the Fish Creek drainage. At that point it covered only half an acre.
