Dollar General to pay $12 million in fines over worker safety issues
Dollar General has agreed to pay $12 million in a settlement with the federal government over workplace safety. The ubiquitous retail chain, with 19,000 locations including more than 700 in Michigan, agreed to the settlement last month with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. LANSING, MI - A Michigan child care center with a documented history of problems is no longer operating after the state ordered it to shut down and suspended its license. The Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential Licensing Bureau issued a notice Aug. 22 that it plans revoke the license of Tiny Tators Childcare LLC, 1036 Bell Road in Niles, after investigators found the center “failed to provide appropriate care and supervision of children at all times and used prohibited means of discipline when caring for children.”
