Lowndes County resident, ABBA founder to be inducted in Alabama Business Hall of Fame
Hope Hull resident and Alabama Black Belt Adventures (ABBA) founder Thomas A. Harris was among others that will be inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame on Nov. 14. Harris is an investment banker and entrepreneur who graduated from Auburn University in 1971 and later went on to found Merchant Capital based in Montgomery.

Pedestrian struck, killed on I-65 Saturday morning
CULLMAN, Ala. – A single-vehicle crash involving two pedestrians resulted in the death of one. The crash occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20. Alabama State Troopers said Madelyn R. Guerra, 20, of Adelphi, Maryland, a pedestrian, was sitting in the roadway and was fatally injured when she was struck by a 2022 Toyota Highlander driven by Julie B. Austel, 40, of Fortville, Indiana.
