Country music legend makes another big announcement just one month after life-saving surgery
Mark Chesnutt is just more than a month removed from an emergency heart surgery that saved his life, but he continues to plot his comeback. The country music legend previously announced that he plans to play on Oct. 9 at the Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama on a show fearing the “Songs and Stories of Dean Dillon.” And on Friday he announced on Instagram another show, set for Sept. 27.
Millbrook 11U All-Stars win World Series
The Firehawks brought home some hardware. The Millbrook Firehawks, an 11U All-Star baseball team, traveled down to Baton Rouge and claimed the USSSA 11U All-Star World Series last weekend. The team, which consists of CJ Jackson, Jason Thomas, Justice Gadaingan, Karson Wilson, Shawn Compton, Christian Lewis, Chase Deaton, Carter Taylor, Cam Smith, Caden Southerland and Brantley Jackson, went 6-1 in the tournament and outscored opponents 57-21.

A power struggle within the small city of Clay is spilling over into decisions about which books belong on library shelves.
