Danville Friendly Town hosting Mini-Marathon & Fun Day

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Sports, inflatables, food trucks, and a mini-marathon will be coming to Danville’s Friendly Town this Saturday.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., an afternoon of fun, fitness, and health will take place at Lincoln Park. The event is hosted by the Danville Police Department, OSF Healthcare, and enthusiastic community members.

The mini-marathon will involve four age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and a sibling event. The sibling event allows younger children to run alongside an older sibling or helper.

Sports games will include disk golf, football, soccer, bocce ball, and bags. Kids can also get creative with sidewalk chalk.

Organizers are also still looking for volunteers to dedicate two to four hours of their time to help out at the event. These opportunities include monitoring games, inflatables, the mini-marathon, and more. To sign up, click here .
