Ohio State had conversations with Dillon Gabriel about becoming its quarterback for the 2024 season before Will Howard transferred to OSU. Gabriel was one of several quarterbacks Ohio State contacted after it decided to pursue a transfer quarterback this past winter, but the Oklahoma transfer chose to take his talents to Oregon instead.

BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The “South of the Square Block Rally” was held at Schines Art Park on June 28. Forty businesses sponsored the event that benefited Remembering Our Heroes. Remembering Our Heroes’ purpose is to help veterans in Crawford County by providing wheelchair ramps, purchasing medications, providing housing, utilities, wheelchairs, food, etc. The Foundation was started 10 years ago by Tommy Starner, a 22-year veteran along with his wife Lori Starner. Accepting a donation in the amount of $4,000 was Lori and Tommy Starner, founders of Remembering Our Heroes.

A fishing boat that was seized after two fishermen were caught cheating in a 2022 tournament at Lake Erie has been sold in an online auction. Ohio Division of Wildlife got $82,000 from the sale, and the buyer will have to pay another $14,000 in fees and taxes. The boat was seized from 37-year-old Chase Cominsky of Heritage, Pennsylvania. Cominsky and 44-year-old Jacob Runyan of Ashtabula were convicted of felony cheating and misdemeanor animal ownership charges.
