Hemlock Township, Pa. — A woman allegedly swapped barcodes on clothing at Walmart in an effort to lower her checkout total.

An investigation into a June 28 theft led police to Barbara Ann Ercolino, of Danville, according to Hemlock Township Police Officer Craig Johnson. The 60-year-old Ercolino managed to avoid paying $78 to Walmart by swapping the bar codes, Johnson added.

Ercolino is being charged with retail theft and defiant trespassing. She is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing with Judge Doug Brewer at the end of August. No bail is listed for Ercolino.
