Two men charged for allegedly robbing woman at gunpoint at Pizza Hut

DANVILLE, Va. ( WFXR ) – Danville Police say they have made two arrests in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at Pizza Hut on July 17.

19-year-old Jayvian Amari Davis has been arrested and charged with carjacking, armed robbery, and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

21-year-old Phayzaun Shacore Edmonds has been charged with conspiracy to commit carjacking. He is being held in the Danville City Jail without bond.

Danville PD says around 7:45 p.m. on July 17, officers responded to Pizza Hut on the 3000 block of Riverside Drive after reports of an armed robbery. A female victim claimed she was allegedly robbed at gunpoint while waiting for her food in the parking lot. The gunman allegedly stole her vehicle and personal belongings before fleeing the scene.

The stolen vehicle was later seen by officers driving south on South Main Street. The driver then crashed near the intersection of Lockett Drive, exited the vehicle, and fled into a nearby wooded area.

Police say no one was injured during the incident.

On Friday, July 26, Davis was arrested in Kannapolis, NC U.S. Marshal Service and local law enforcement. Davis is currently awaiting extradition and was given a $1 million bond.
